About Sundanese for Divehi speakers

Sundanese is written in the Latin alphabet; Divehi uses the Thaana script. Chatting in writing is a good way to get used to a new script, because you can take your time with every message.

Sundanese is related to Indonesian, Malay, Tagalog, Chamorro.

How the exchange works

  1. Say what you speak and what you're learning. Talkabout shows you people who speak Sundanese natively and are learning Divehi.
  2. Write to someone. Take turns: some messages in Sundanese, some in Divehi, so you both get to practise.
  3. Fix each other's messages. Suggest a correction on any message and your partner sees exactly what changed. You choose how much you want corrected.

How Talkabout keeps scammers out

Who can join Talkabout?
Adults only. Anyone who gives a birthdate under 18 is turned away, and the account stays closed.
Can a stranger send me photos or ask for my number straight away?
No. Photos and contact details unlock only after you have both written to each other, and new accounts can only start a few conversations a day.
What happens to someone who tries to scam people?
Report them from the chat and a moderator reads the report. If a rule was broken they can be warned, suspended or banned, and a banned email address cannot sign up again.
Whoever reported them hears that it was handled.
Should I ever send money to someone I met here?
Never. Nobody needs your money to practise a language with you. Requests for money, crypto or gift cards, sudden emergencies and pushes to another app are the signs to watch for.
