Talkabout is provided by Talkabout LLC (see our legal notice). Talkabout is free to use.

You must be 18 or older. By signing up you confirm your age, and we close accounts that belong to anyone younger. One person, one account.

Talkabout is a language exchange: a place to practise languages with other adults through text chat and corrections. It isn't a place to sell things or to pursue people who haven't shown they want that.

You agree to follow the community guidelines. If you break them, we may warn you, remove messages, suspend your account for a period or ban it. We tell you which rule was broken and why. You can appeal a suspension or a ban once from inside the app: if we accept the appeal we lift it, and if we reject it the decision is final.

To keep people safe, moderators can read conversations. They do so to review reports and appeals, every time they open one it is recorded, and they only use what they read to enforce these terms and the guidelines. You can report a person or a message from inside the app.

You own what you write and upload. You give Talkabout permission to store it and show it to the people you send it to. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal. If you delete your account, the text of messages you sent stays in the other person's chat, as described in the privacy notice.

New accounts can start only a few new chats a day, and images and contact details such as links, email addresses and phone numbers unlock once you've talked with someone for a while. These limits change as your account builds trust.

Talkabout is new and still changing. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and features may change. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

You can download your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, as described above.

We tell members about significant changes to these terms before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of Georgia; if you're a consumer living in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live.
