About Marathi for Assamese speakers
Marathi is written in Devanagari; Assamese uses the Bengali–Assamese script. Chatting in writing is a good way to get used to a new script, because you can take your time with every message.
Both are Indo-Aryan languages, so expect words and grammar that feel familiar.
Marathi is related to Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Sinhala.
How the exchange works
- Say what you speak and what you're learning. Talkabout shows you people who speak Marathi natively and are learning Assamese.
- Write to someone. Take turns: some messages in Marathi, some in Assamese, so you both get to practise.
- Fix each other's messages. Suggest a correction on any message and your partner sees exactly what changed. You choose how much you want corrected.
Safe by default
