Practise Inuktitut with native speakers who want to learn Cree
Talkabout pairs people who help each other: they speak what you're learning and are learning what you speak. Free, in your browser, adults only.
Who's here
Few people are exchanging Inuktitut and Cree yet. Sign up and we'll show you partners as they join, or invite someone who speaks Inuktitut.
About Inuktitut for Cree speakers
Inuktitut and Cree are both written in Canadian Aboriginal syllabics, so you can start reading straight away.
Inuktitut is related to Inupiaq, Kalaallisut.
How the exchange works
- Say what you speak and what you're learning. Talkabout shows you people who speak Inuktitut natively and are learning Cree.
- Write to someone. Take turns: some messages in Inuktitut, some in Cree, so you both get to practise.
- Fix each other's messages. Suggest a correction on any message and your partner sees exactly what changed. You choose how much you want corrected.
Safe by default
Talkabout is for adults only. Photos and contact details unlock only after you've both written to each other, nobody can flood your inbox, and favourites stay private unless you both choose each other.
You can block or report anyone from the chat. Everyone agrees to the community guidelines, and moderators tell you which rule was broken when they act on a report.
